5 Instant Confidence Boosters

5 Instant Confidence Boosters

At Accel Lifestyle, we want you to start each day with the attitude that you are ready to go after your dreams, conquer the world and make a difference.  We realize that everyone needs a little boost of confidence and want to share 5 Quick Tips:

1. Wear Something Big
Throw on a bright colored lipstick, big hat, super hero t-shirt, chunky jewelry, fabulous sunglasses, anything with a “pop of color”, etc.  Research shows that what you wear affects your attitude and confidence. We have experimented and find that when we wear something “Big”, not only do we feel more confident, but it promotes conversation with others. You’ll stick out from the crowd in a positive way - “I love your hat”, “Where did you get that necklace?”, “I love that color” - words that put a smile on your face and confidence in your step!

2. Exercise
Being a fitness apparel company, we could tell you to make sure you sweat at least an hour a day, get your heart rate to X-amount, etc. However, we just want to get you moving. We have all heard the expression “You are only one workout away from a better mood” and this is a fact. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins and a positive feeling in your body is triggered. Because we love science, here is an awesome article written by How Stuff Works: What Exactly Are Endorphins? Now get those endorphins kickin’ and slay the day!

3. Meditate
We will be writing a blog post dedicated to meditation and its benefits in the future, but for now, we’ll just touch on its amazingness. Many people have been turning to meditation as a way to cope with stress and increase positivity. Personally, we meditate about 10-15 minutes every morning and have seen a drastic physical & mental difference in how we react to stress during the day. A couple of our favorite apps are Headspace and Calm. Give it a try!

4. Put Your Pen to Paper

To be appreciative for everything you have (like really appreciative) will lighten the load of the other challenges you are experiencing in life. Whether it be a roof over your head, a healthy meal, or an amazing friend; we all have so many blessings in our life. By writing down what you are appreciative of, it sets the mindset for the rest of the day.  You can turn to this list when things seem a little “out of control” to remind yourself of how blessed you are. “Too blessed to stress”

5. Compliment Others

A sure way to immediately become more confident is to provide confidence to others. Everyone loves a sincere compliment and the coolest outcome is that both parties (the giver and the receiver) positively benefit. If you compliment another person, it means you are pointing out the best in them. Practicing to see the best in others will improve your positive mindset and will give you the ability to see the best in you.

Now go out there, wear your big sunnies and red lips and approach the day knowing that you are an amazing human being and can do anything you put your mind to!

LOVE all 5!!! So funny because I have always gravitated towards a black/white/neutral color wardrobe. This spring I committed to wearing a super bright, bold color with every outfit and have had endless compliments! Just had to step outside my comfort zone :)

Yep! I love these! I usually shy away from bright prints or big statement pieces but sometimes I just throw them on and throw caution to the wind. It’s a great conversation starter and way to connect!

I like this post. Number 5 really touched a memory. My Mom was a practitioner of finding something to genuinely compliment about others , once a day. She used to say " you won’t believe how good it will make you feel- not to mention the lift to the other person" .
